Statement of Work Example

C Scope of Work
Fiscal Year 2007 work will consist of construction and testing of two 24-inch diameter water
supply wells completed in the Floridan Aquifer. The wells are anticipated to able about 1,100 feet
in depth and will be located at the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Dixie Wellfield. These wells will
provide raw water to the Peele-Dixie Water Treatment Plant.
EXAMPLE 3 - Project Title: Floridan Aquifer Wells (2) and Two (2) MGD RO Expansion
A Introduction/Background
The City of Hollywood WTP requires a dditional treated capacity to service its exi sting an d
developing customer base. Additional raw water supply to be able to produce additional tre ated
capacity is required in the short term. This request includ es construction of two (2) new Floridan
Aquifer groundwater wells cla ssified as proposed under existing Consum ptive Use Permit (CUP).
These wells have previously been identified in the Lower Ea st Coast Water Supply
Questionnaire. In addition, a new 2 MG D Reverse Osmosis (RO) train is required to be built to
increase treated capacity added to the di stribution system from the Floridan water supply.
Proposed Floridan Aquifer production wells re quested unde r this application have already been
characterized in the existing CUP. This project converts propose d production wells into existing
test production wells, augmenting availa ble supply from the Floridan Aquifer. Plans to revise the
CUP accordingly are un derway.
Construction of new 2 MGD RO train has limited pe rmitting requirements which will be obtained
during the Bid Preparation stage indicated on the attached sche dule. Hollywood RO system has
been designed and built for modular expansion. RO train to be constructed will be replication of
existing 2 MGD train and will be fabricated by skid supplier according to pre-established de sign
specifications.
B Objectives
The objective of this projec t is to help meet the additional treated capacity required to service the
City’s existing developing customer base by increasing the Floridan Aquifer raw water sup ply and
the Reverse Osm osis water treatment plant capacity.
C Scope of Work
This project entails the construction of two (2) Floridan Aquifer test production wells (1 6”
diameter, cased to 950’) a nd installation of an additional 2 MGD skid-mounted RO train starting
from the pump discharge and terminatin g at the concentrate and permeate headers within the
skid.
The two (2) Florida n Alternative Water Supply wells (e stimated at $920,000 per well, 16”
diameter, cased to 950’) a re contained in the existing Con sumptive Use Permit. These wells
previously have been identified in the Lower East Co ast Water Supply Questionnaire. Wells will
be constructed as “test” produ ction wells in this phase to enable water quality analysis,
confirmation of hydro-geologic conditions, pump selection, and raw water pipeline design to be
performed for construction in subse quent phase.
The new two (2) MGD RO membrane train (approximately $619,60 0 cost) will be con stru cted
from existing design information to increase the propo rtion of Plant treated water originating from
the Floridan Aquifer Alternative Water Supply and allow utilization of new produ ction wells also
contained in this request.
