1.4 Research Method
To improve the visual quality of the CD-ROM, it was necessary to understand and
consider theoretical and practical subjects, such as the basic theory of Korean linguistics, to
determine how scientific the system is. Then I researched general visual elements,
communications and what interactions consumers’ desire.
Graphics and design elements for Korean characters were proposed followed by a
l ayout design f or the CD-R OM module so that content could be presented in a more unifi ed
manner. The proposed graphics and module were tested individually by non-designers to
determine whether the proposals were improvements over Dr. Kim-Cho’s CD-ROM.
The final deliverable will be formatted in Macromedia Flash MX, a powerful tool for
utilizing graphic quality as well as adding dynamic interactions.
