Thank you all for joining us here today to celebrate (bride’s name) and (groom’s name).
They are such a sweet deserving couple and I am glad that you are here to share in
their love.
(Bride’s name), ever since you and (groom’s name) started dating, your mother and I
knew this would be a lasting relationship. You have been in a constant state of
happiness and smiles ever since you first mentioned him to us. I am grateful that you
have waited to marry the man of your dreams, never settling for anything less than that.
I have been nothing but proud of you your entire life and tonight is no different.
As you step into your new role as wife, I want to give you some wisdom. Marriage is the
single most important relationship we can have on this earth. Your love for (groom’s
name) will continue to grow throughout the years. I can only hope you will be as happy
as your mother and I are every single day. I know you will continue to grow and amaze
me. You have become a beautiful young lady and it is still hard for me to picture you this
way. I still picture you as the sweet little girl I used to (memory that you have shared
with your daughter).
(Groom’s name), some advice for you as well. Marriage is a beautiful thing, you guys
will learn to help each other and meet each other’s needs as you go through life.
Continue to make her as happy as you have been and everything will be ok. A word of
caution. Not everything will be easy. Sometimes bad things will happen or you guys will
disagree. It is those instances that will draw you even closer together.
When those bad things happen, be slow to anger. Love each other through those times.
Promise that no matter how difficult things get you will not let the sun go down on your
anger. Without these difficult times, the good times would not be near as sweet. The
good times will be far greater than the bad ones and I look forward to watching you guys
grow together.
(Groom’s father) and (groom’s mother), thank you for raising a wonderful son. He loves
our daughter with all of his heart and it is so evident. Thank you for working with us to
help make this day special for our children. I am excited to gain a son, I am also very
excited to be gaining two great friends in you all.
Would all of you please join me in toasting the bride and groom May they be ever
happy. May they live long and loving lived together. Lastly, may they continue to make
each other as happy as they are right now.
